INDIAN SUMMER: meaning and examples

Good morning!

This is the last week of Daily Vitamins before the summer and we are going to explain some summer-related English idioms. An idiom is a group of words whose meaning is different from the meanings of the individual words.

Today's summer idiom is: INDIAN SUMMER

It means: a short period in autumn with unusually warm and sunny weather.

Example 1:
I love Indian summer. It's like the last memory of summer before winter begins.

Example 2:
It's 28 degrees Celsius in the middle of October! It must be Indian summer. Let's have a barbeque outside!

Have a great day!
