INSEPARABLE PHRASAL VERBS (GET OVER): meaning and examples

Welcome back, and happy Tuesday, readers!

Our theme for the week is Inseparable Phrasal Verbs. These are phrasal verbs that are transitive but cannot be separated. The object must always come directly after the phrasal verb and its adverbial particle (in today's example, the particle is OVER).

Your phrasal verb for today is: TO GET OVER (SOMETHING).

Definition: To recover from something (typically an illness or a negative experience).

Example 1: I'm finally getting over the flu. I was sick for three days.

Example 2: I don't think Mark wants to go on a date with my friend Mary. He's still getting over his last relationship

Can you use this phrasal verb in a sentence? Give us an example on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter). We look forward to seeing your examples.

This concludes today's lesson. Have a nice day!
