IRREGULAR PLURAL NOUNS (CRISIS/CRISES): meaning and examples

Happy Friday, readers! I hope you had a wonderful week. Are you ready for our last lesson about Irregular Plural Nouns?

Today we are looking at the word CRISIS. The plural form is CRISES. It is irregular because we change the ending from "-is" to "-es." This is the same pattern as Tuesday's word, Emphasis. There are other words that have the same pattern (thesis/theses, analysis/analyses, axis/axes...). Notice the difference in the pronuncation too.

Example 1: The financial crisis was difficult for everyone.

Example 2: The company is experiencing multiple crises right now: the CEO quit and so did the Treasurer.

Example 3: After many crises, the company finally decided to close.

That concludes our week. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

Next week, we will ask you to participate in a "Choose-One-Word" challenge, where you must choose one word that completes three sentences. We will see you on Monday!
