IT'S A GOAL-FEST!
IT'S A GOAL-FEST!: meaning and examples
Hello, everyone. Happy Friday to you. I hope you are having a great day so far. Welcome to the last Daily Vitamin of the week.
Today, one final time, we look at three more phrases that you can use when watching a football match.
Today's three phrases are:
⇒ The crowd is on their feet! (Noting an exciting moment that has captured the audience's attention)
⇒ They need to step up their game in the second half. (Encouraging a team to improve performance in the later part of the match)
⇒ It's a goal-fest! (Referring to a match with many goals being scored)
And following is our sample dialogue between two friends who are watching a football match together.
Dialogue
Pedro: Wow, did you see that goal just before halftime?
David: Yeah, what a shot! The crowd is on their feet!
Pablo: It's a goal-fest out there today. Both teams are attacking relentlessly.
Pedro: Absolutely. But you know what? The defence on both sides needs to tighten up.
David: Agreed. They need to step up their game in the second half if they want to secure the win.
Pablo: Definitely. It's going to be an intense second half, that's for sure.
Can you create your own original sentences or a dialogue using one or more of these phrases? You can post your dialogue/phrases on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter/X) and we will give you feedback ASAP.
You may have noticed that these dialogues include other interesting phrases, not just the ones we highlighted. I hope you found them useful.
I also hope you have a great day and an excellent weekend! We'll be back on Monday with more Daily Vitamins.
