JOINTS
JOINTS: meaning and examples
In yesterday's Daily Vitamins we mentioned the word wrist. It's the joint or articulation between your arm and your hand. In today's Daily Vitamin we're going to explain some other common joints in your body.
WRIST: the joint between the arm and the hand.
ELBOW: the joint between the lower arm and the upper arm.
SHOULDER: the joint that attaches your arm to your torso (body).
HIP: the joint located at your waist. It attaches your legs to your torso.
KNEE: the joint between the upper leg (thigh) and the lower leg.
ANKLE: the joint between your leg and your feet.
Example 1:
Her left wrist became very sore as a result of using the computer mouse.
Example 2:
My sister suffers from arthritis. In winter, she gets painful swelling in her joints, especially in her knees and hips.
Example 3:
Having joint problems can reduce your mobility quite a lot. Even simple acts like writing or reaching for things can become difficult.
