JUST-5: meaning and examples

Hello everyone. I hope you had a nice weekend.

Two weeks ago, at the end of the Daily Vitamin from Thursday, May 6th (JUST-4), I said we would continue our review of the word just the following week. However, in the end we looked at cufflink and other uses of and expressions with the word link. Today we finally return to our review of more expressions and uses of just.

Today's expression is: just about (informal)

Meaning: used to express the idea of almost, very nearly or approximately.

Example 1:
Lisa: Are you enjoying the party?
Kelly: Yes. Very much! I think I've met just about everyone here and they are all very friendly.

Example 2:
Rachel: Did you reach your sales target?
Jack: Just about; and I still have another week to go. I'm sure I will reach it.

Example 3:
It's quarter to eight. Anthony should be arriving just about now.

I think I've said just about everything I wanted to say about this expression. But, if you have any questions, please post a comment in the Daily Vitamin section on our website (https://www.ziggurat.es/es/lecciones_ingles/index.asp).

Have a great day!
