LEARNING SLANG (PULL AN ALL-NIGHTER): meaning and examples

Today we continue with our theme of Slang words and expressions related to study and school.

Today's expression is: TO PULL AN ALL-NIGHTER

Definition: a time when you spend all night studying, especially for an exam.

Sentence 1:
John: Are you ready for the exam?
Lisa: I think so. Last night I pulled an all-nighter! I barely slept, but I know the material well. 

Sentence 2: In order to finish the end-of-the-year sales report, I pulled an all-nighter last night. I didn't sleep, but the report is done, so I'm happy.
