Today's expression is: TO CUT CLASS

Definition: to intentionally miss class, usually to do some other activity.

This expression is common in US English.

Sentence 1: I can't possibly sit through another lecture today, so let's just cut class and go to the beach.

Sentence 2: I'm afraid I'm going to have to send a note home to your mother; this is the second time that you have cut class this week.
