LEAVE-2: meaning and examples
Good morning everyone.
This week we are looking at expressions that have the verb leave in them.
Today's expression is: to leave it at that (informal)
Meaning: to say or do nothing more about something (a problem, a disagreement, etc.); to leave a situation as it is.
Example 1:
We'll never agree, so why don't we just leave it at that!
Example 2:
This is the best we can do. We'll have to leave it at that.
Example 3:
I've simply decided to quit my job. Let's just leave it at that. I don't want to talk about it anymore.
