LISTEN EXPRESSIONS-1: meaning and examples
Good morning,
Today we look at an expression related to one of the verbs we studied yesterday, listen.
Today's expression is: to listen (out) for something
Meaning: to be prepared to hear a particular sound.
Example 1:
I'm going to take a shower. Can you please listen out for the doorbell? Thanks!
Example 2:
We had out suitcases prepared, our jackets on, so we sat on the sofa and listened out for the arrival of the taxi.
