LISTEN EXPRESSIONS-2: meaning and examples

Good morning,

Today we look at another expression with the verb listen

Today's expression is: to listen in (on / to something)

Meaning: to listen to a conversation that you are not supposed to hear.

Example 1:
You shouldn't listen in on other people's conversations! 

Example 2:
There were no seats left in the theatre, but I was able to listen in on the speech from outside in the hall.
