LOSE vs. LOOSE: COMMONLY CONFUSED WORDS
LOSE vs. LOOSE: COMMONLY CONFUSED WORD: meaning and examples
Hello everyone. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you had a great weekend.
This week we are going to look at pairs of words that are often confused in English. We start off with two words that only have a one-letter difference.
Word 1: LOSE
Meaning: to no longer have something because you do not know where it is. It's lost.
Example 1: When you come home from work, you should always put your keys in the same place. That way you won't lose them every day.
Word 2: LOOSE
Meaning: not firmly held or fastened in place.
Example 2: The nails that I used to hang the picture frame on the wall became loose, and the frame fell to the floor and broke.
Can you create your own original sentences with these often-confused words? You can post your sentences on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter/X) and we will give you feedback as soon as possible.
Enjoy the rest of your day and we'll see you tomorrow with another lesson.
All the best!
