MAMA'S BOY

Good morning / afternoon / evening everyone, depending on when you are reading this. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you had an excellent weekend, and I also hope that your week has started off well.

Today we look at a colloquial expression that include the word MAMA in it. 

Today's expression is: MAMA'S BOY

Meaning: a man or boy who is particularly close with his mother, to the point of being overly dependent on her.

This is often used to insult men or boys who are overly attached to or dependent on their mothers. 

Example 1: María left Marcos because he was such a mama's boy and always ran to his mother to fix his problems and seek advice about his relationship with María.

Example 2: 
Rachel: John, you're such a mama's boy. When are you going to grow up?
John: I am grown up. I just have an amazing connection with my mother; and I guess I do tend to depend on her more than most people depend on their mothers. But I'm okay with that.
