Today's 1st expression is: Every man for himself
Meaning: this is a saying that we use to express that people must look after themselves and not give or expect any help.
Example 1:
Some people think that in business it's every man for himself. However, I think the secret to business is cooperation and collaboration.
Today's 2nd expression is: to be your own man / woman
Meaning: to act or think independently, not following others or being ordered.
Example 2:
Working for himself meant that he could be his own man.
