Today's word is: to marinate
Meaning: to marinate is to soak food in a flavoured liquid for a period of time before cooking.
Example 1: Whenever she invites us to her house for dinner, she makes marinated chicken. She marinates it overnight for the best flavour, and the truth is that it's delicious.
