MERRY CHRISTMAS? HAPPY HOLIDAYS? HAPPY CHRISTMAS?: meaning and examples
In 2003, we looked at the difference between the phrases MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY CHRISTMAS. Depending on where you are from, you might use one of these expressions more often.
In North America, most prefer the phrase Merry Christmas, while in the UK, Happy Christmas is more common. However, you can hear both phrases in either region. Below we've included the link to the original post.

There are two other phrases many people also use in December: Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings. These greetings can be used for other holidays, like Hanukkah and New Year's Eve.
