Today's verb is: TO SLAKE
Definition: To mix a powder, such as cornflour, with a little liquid to form a paste in order for it then to be mixed into a larger amount of liquid without forming lumps.
Sentence 1: Mary, can you slake some flour? We need to add the flower to the milk and vanilla mixture, and slaking the flour will make it easier.
Sentence 2: Jack decided not to slake the cornflour, so there were lumps in the cornbread.
