NEGOTIATION LANGUAGE: OBJECTINGâ
NEGOTIATION LANGUAGE: OBJECTINGÂ : meaning and examples
Welcome back, readers!
It's our second day of Negotiation Language. Yesterday we focused on showing understanding; today we will look at how to politely object to someone's opinion or offer.Â
Here are some of the phrases you can use to politely disagree with someone.Â
I'm not sure I entirely agree.Â
I'm not sure I agree with you.Â
I must respectfully disagree.Â
I'm afraid we do not see eye-to-eye on this.
These phrases are best used together with a phrase from yesterday (showing understanding). Use BUT or HOWEVER in between each phrase.Â
I get/see your point, but I'm not sure I entirely agree.Â
I get/see where you are coming from. However, I must respectfully disagree.Â
I appreciate your point/position, but I'm afraid we do not see eye-to-eye on this.
I know what you mean; however, I'm not sure I agree with you.Â
I hear what you are saying, but I'm not sure I agree with you.Â
Practice with us! Using one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter), give us a sentence that combines yesterday's and today's phrases to show understanding and an objection.Â
