NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION: meaning and examples
Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the holiday season.
Today's expression is: New Year's Resolution
As you may know, a New Year's Resolution is something that you promise to improve in your life in a new year, for example to quit smoking, to lose weight or to learn English.
Example:
Speaker 1: Did you make a New Year's resolution this year?
Speaker 2: Yes, I've finally decided to learn English.
Notice that the word resolution is nothing like it's equivalent in Spanish / Catalan (propósito / propòsit).
