OPPOSITE CONNECTORS: ALTHOUGH: meaning and examples
Hello.
Today we are continuing with our look at connectors that contrast opposite or contradictory ideas.
Today's word is: although
It is used: to introduce a statement that makes your main statement seem surprising, or that makes your main statement seem less true.
Example 1
She is a very popular writer, although personally I find her novels very boring.
Example 2
Although most people I know have a place to live, food and a job, they spend a large percentage of their day complaining. Perhaps they should spend more time being thankful for what they have!
Example 3
I love living in Barcelona, although sometimes I miss my family.
When you read in English, try to notice how this and other connectors are used. You will improve your understanding of them little by little.
If you have any questions about although, please post them in the Daily Vitamin Plus! forum section on our website.
Have an excellent day!
