OVERDUE: meaning and examples
Today's word is: overdue
It means: past the due date, usually in reference to the time limit for submitting something.
Example 1:
Michael's school project was one week overdue, so the teacher called his parents to find out what the problem was.
Example 2:
My library books are overdue. The library charges an overdue-fee of 5 cents a day per book, so I'd better take them back right away!
