PATTERNS ON CLOTHING-2: meaning and examples
Good morning.
Today we continue looking at words and expressions to describe the patterns on clothing.
Today's word is: stripes (Span: rayas) or striped (Span: de rayas o rayado)
Meaning stripe: a long narrow line of colour that is a different colour from the areas next to it.
Example 1:
A zebra is easy to distinguish from a horse, due to it's black and white stripes.
Example 2:
She bought a white tablecloth with red stripes.
Example 3:
David: What shirt should I wear today, mama?
Olga: How about the plain green-coloured one, or the long-sleeved polo shirt with blue and green stripes?
