PHRASAL VERB FRIDAY: FINISH OFF

Hello readers and welcome to the last Daily Vitamin post of the academic year! We are ending this year's lessons with a phrasal verb about completing things: TO FINISH OFF.

Definition: to finish completely. 

Example 1: We are finishing off this year's Daily Vitamin posts with a phrasal verb. 

Example 2: We are going to celebrate by finishing off a bottle of cava. 

There are other definitions for this phrasal verb; today we are only looking at this definition because it is so appropriate for today's lesson. This phrasal verb is TRANSITIVE and SEPARABLE. For example, we could write Example 2 like this:

We are going to celebrate by finishing a bottle of cava off.
