PHRASAL VERB FRIDAY: GET BY: meaning and examples

Today's Phrasal Verb Friday lesson focuses on the phrase TO GET BY.
Definition: to be able to live with (or deal with) a difficult situation, usually by having just enough of what you need (usually money).
Example 1: I don't make a lot of money, but I get by. I even bought a small flat last year.
Example 2: My mother is so strong. She will do whatever it takes to get by. When I was young, she even worked three jobs.
Example 3: Some people work multiple jobs and still barely get by with their salary. This is a problem we need to discuss in the next elections.
This verb is INTRANSITIVE.
