Today is the last day of our week about Phrasal verbs through songs. We are ending this week with Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn" and the phrasal verb TO GO ON. 

Definition: to happen. 

Lyrics:
There's nothing where he used to lie
The conversation has run dry
That's what's going on
Nothing's fine, I'm torn. 

We often use this verb in the continuous (-ing) tense. 

Example 1: Hi! Good to see you! What's going on?

Example 2: What's going on with that job you applied for? Have you heard from the manager lately?

Example 3: Do you hear that noise outside? What's going on?

This phrasal verb is intransitive.
