PHRASAL VERBS WITH 'ACT' (ACT ON SOMETHING)
PHRASAL VERBS WITH 'ACT' (ACT ON SOMETHING): meaning and examples
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you had a good weekend.
This week we are going to look at different phrasal verbs that have the word ACT in them.
Our first ACT phrasal verb of the week is: To act on something
Definition: to do something because you have been advised or told to do so.
Example 1: He told me to buy 50,000€ of Bitcoin and I acted on his advice. Unfortunately, that was bad advice and I lost almost 23,000€ in three days.
Example 2: There have been concerns as to why the Board didn't act on a recommendation to investigate the sexual harassment charges in the company.
If you really want to improve your English, it's important to act on my advice: create a bit of contact with English every day. :-)
I hope everyone has a great day.
All the best!
