Today is the second day of our phrasal-verbs-with-Jack theme and we are looking at the colloquial phrasal verb: TO JACK IN.Â
Definition: To quit; to stop doing something.Â
Example 1: I jacked my job in because I didn’t like my boss.
Example 2: I'm thinking of jacking in this car. Petrol is so expensive these days.Â
This phrasal verb is more common in British English than in American English. As you can see by the examples, it is optionally SEPARABLE.Â
