PLAY / GO / DO (3): meaning and examples

Good morning.

Today we complete our set of sports verbs.

Today's verb is: TO DO sports or physical activities

It is used: with activities that often take place inside a gym and involve movement but not a change of location. Some sports or activities used with the verb TO DO are: aerobics, martial arts (karate, judo, tai chi, etc.), yoga, weight-lifting, boxing, etc.

Example 1:
There are so many different activities to do at my gym. On Mondays I do aerobics. On Wednesdays I do kick-boxing. And, on Friday afternoons, I do yoga. It helps me to relax before the weekend.

Example 2
:
Max did judo when he was younger, but now he prefers to do weight-lifting.

I hope the difference between TO PLAY, TO GO and TO DO for sports and physical activities is clear. If not, I'd be happy to answer any questions. You can leave a comment in the Daily Vitamin section on our website.

I hope you have an active day!
