PRESENT PERFECT: CHANGE OVER TIME
PRESENT PERFECT: CHANGE OVER TIME: meaning and examples
Happy Monday, everyone! I hope your weekend was relaxing.
This week, we are focusing on some grammar and looking at the Present Perfect.
Remember that the Present Perfect uses this form:
HAS / HAVE past participle
We have looked at this several times because this is a tense many students have questions about. Each day of this week, we will look at a different way we use the Present Perfect. Today we will look at using it for CHANGE OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.
Example 1: People have become more aware of how bad drinking straws are for the environment.
Example 2: The government has begun looking at the long-term effects of some common prescription drugs.
We often use the word SINCE in these situations.
Example 3: Since we watched the documentary about the environment, we have started eating more organic foods.
Example 4: He has become more interested in literature and theatre since he took a class about Shakespeare.
That's all for today. Tomorrow we will look at another way to use the Present Perfect. Have a great day!
