PRESENT PERFECT: UNCOMPLETED (EXPECTED) ACTION
PRESENT PERFECT: UNCOMPLETED (EXPECTED) ACTION: meaning and examples
Welcome back, everyone! This week, we are focusing on some grammar, specifically the uses of the Present Perfect tense.
Remember that this tense uses this form:
HAS / HAVE past participle
Today we will look at using it to show AN UNCOMPLETED ACTION WE ARE EXPECTING. We are waiting for this action to happen, but it hasn't happened yet. We often use YET and STILL with these sentences.
Example 1: We still haven't finished the report.
Example 2: Have you finished washing the dishes (yet)?
Example 3: I haven't learned how to use the Past Perfect, but I know how to use the Present Perfect.
What haven't you finished yet today that you want to get done? Tell us on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter).
