REAL LIFE: RELATIONSHIPS-3
REAL LIFE: RELATIONSHIPS-3: meaning and examples
In one unit of our English For Real Life conversation course (Move, by MacMillan), we learn about different types of personalities with respect to how we deal with friends. We are cultivators, pruners, harvesters or gatherers. Today and tomorrow we will look at these humorous classifications in more detail.
Cultivator: these are people to whom friends mean a lot; cultivators usually nurture long-term friendships and organise frequent meetings with friends.
Pruners: these are people who tend to make friends very quickly, but then drop or lose them very quickly. Pruners like to be seen as part of the "in-crowd", so if they don't think you are cool, they will drop you like a hot potato.
Do you identify with either of these personality types? Tomorrow we will give more details about harvesters and gatherers, as well as more information about the tendencies between sexes, how age affects friendships, etc.
