SAVVY: meaning and examples

Good morning!

Today's word is: SAVVY (informal US English)

It means: to know about something or to be well-informed or astute. It is sometimes preceded by an adjective to say what kind of knowledge the person has: for example, fashion-savvy (knows about fashion) or tech-savvy (knows about technology). 

NOTE: As you listen, notice the "v" sound of the word savvy. It is distinct from the "b" sound.

Example 1:
You should talk to John about your problems with the company. He's very savvy and could probably give you some good advice.

Example 2:
I'm really tech-savvy. If I have a problem with my computer, I can usually find a solution in no time at all!
