SECOND CONDITIONALS
SECOND CONDITIONALS: meaning and examples
Welcome back, readers! Today we are looking at the SECOND CONDITIONAL. We use this structure to talk about situations in the future that will probably not happen. These situations are imaginary or hypothetical in the present moment.
Here is the form of the SECOND CONDITIONAL: (IF past) (WOULD infinitive verb)
Example 1: If I knew how to bake, I would make you a cake.
Example 2: If I had a million dollars, I would take a vacation to the Bahamas.
And here is one in the negative form.
Example 3: If I were not sick, I would be at the gym right now. / If I was not sick, I would be at the gym right now.
Now you try. Can you make a SECOND CONDITIONAL sentence from the information below?
