SHOPPING EXPRESSIONS: meaning and examples
Hello everyone. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin.
Today we will focus on some expressions related to shopping.
Today's 1st expression is: To go shopping / To shop for
It means: = to go to a shop to buy things.
Example 1:
My sister loves going shopping. She especially likes shopping for shoes.
Today's 2nd expression is: To do the shopping
It means: to go to a grocery shop or supermarket and buy the weekly groceries (food).
Example 2:
People used to do the shopping everyday, but nowadays many families prefer to do the shopping once a week.
Today's 3rd shopping expression is: To go window shopping
It means: to look at things in shop windows but not with the intention of buying anything.
Example 3:
When Amy visits a big city, she usually goes window-shopping in the city centre, but rarely decides to buy anything.
