SLANG EXPRESSIONS (FLEX)

Hello everyone and happy Monday to you. I hope you had a great weekend. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin!

In September of 2021 and September of 2024 we created some Daily Vitamins about slang words and expressions in English. As you can imagine, there are lots of slang expressions in English, so this week we are going to present some more slang words and expressions. 

Today's first word is: Flex

"Normal" Meaning: to bend or to become bent.

Example 1: When he flexed his ankle during the football game, he screamed out in pain. 

Colloquial Meaning: To show off.

Example 2: When Mark brought his new sports car to the high school reunion, it was definitely a flex.

Example 3: When you posted all of your vacation photos on social media it felt like an obvious flex.
