SLUSH FUND: meaning and examples
Today is our last corruption word of the week!
Today's expression is: slush fund
It means: a fund (money) used for undefined corrupt practices, like bribery
Example 1:
Builder 1: We need to make a bid for the building of the new town swimming pool. How much money do we have in the slush fund?
Builder 2: A few thousand pounds. I don't think it is enough to convince the local councilman.
Example 2:
They have been accused of maintaining a slush fund in order to pay political party members a salary bonus.
