SNOW EXPRESSIONS-2
SNOW EXPRESSIONS-2: meaning and examples
Today we continue with our series of snow expressions.
Today's expression is: to be snowed under
It means: to have more things, especially work, than you feel able to deal with.
You can imagine a big pile of work like an enormous pile of snow and you are buried under it!
Example 1:
Douglas: We're all going out for a drink after work. Why don't you come, Frank?
Frank: I'd love to but I'm completely snowed under at the moment. Maybe next Friday.
Example 2:
I wish I hadn't accepted that project. I'm so snowed under that I hardly have time for anything personal this month! I'm working 14 hours a day at least.
Have a stress-free day!
