SPORTS-RELATED EXPRESSIONS (UNDERDOG): meaning and examples

As you know, this week we have been looking at sports-related expressions.
This week's final sports-related expression is: Underdog
Definition: in a competition or a situation the underdog is the person who seems least likely to succeed or win. A person, competitor or group of people with less power, money, etc. than the rest of society.
Example 1: They went into the championship game as the underdogs, but in the end they were victorious. Nobody thought that they would win.
Example 2: She always cheers for the underdog, whether it be in sports or in politics.
