SPORTS/TEAM EXPRESSIONS (TO BE A GOOD SPORT): meaning and examples

This month, the world comes together for the Olympics. Are you excited? We are! To celebrate the 2018 Winter Olympics, we will spend two weeks on sports-related themes.
This week we will learn Idioms Related to Sports/Teams. Today we are looking at the expression TO BE A GOOD SPORT.
Definition 1: To play fairly and have a good attitude, whether you win or lose.
Example 1: I played chess with my friend, who is really good. I lost really badly, but I was a good sport about it.
Example 2: Our baseball team is in last place; we played the #1 team and they beat us 10-1! However, we were good sports and we had fun.
Definition 2: To be kind and generous.
Example 3: When I was a kid, my brother would always be a good sport and play dolls with me.
Example 4: Thanks for helping our department with this presentation. You are such a good sport.
Example 5: My French is terrible, but my roommate still practices speaking it with me. She's a good sport.
