STAR WARS VOCABULARY: GALAXY
STAR WARS VOCABULARY: GALAXY: meaning and examples
Welcome back and happy Monday to you all! How was your weekend? Are you ready for another exciting week of lessons?
It's the first week of May. If you're a Star Wars fan, then you know what that means: May 4th is coming up!
May the 4th is like an unofficial holiday for Star Wars lovers. That is because the famous Star Wars expression "May the force be with you" sounds like "May the 4th be with you," in English. We are celebrating with a fun theme: Star Wars Vocabulary!
Today’s lesson is about the word GALAXY. It's a similar word in many languages, so you are probably familiar with it.
Definition: A collection of stars and planets and asteroids in space (most notably, our galaxy, the Milky Way.)
Example 1: Can we count all of the stars in the galaxy?
Example 2: It's difficult to understand how big our galaxy is.
If you're a Star Wars fan, then you know why we chose this lesson: it's in the first line of the original Star Wars film! "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."
That's all for today's lesson. I hope you enjoy the rest of your Monday!
