SUFFIXES --> -MENT / -NESS: meaning and examples
Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin everyone. Happy Thursday. I hope your day is going well.
Today, once again, we look at two more common English suffixes.
Today's 1st suffix is: -MENT
Meaning -MENT: The result or product of an action.
Example 1:

An AGREEMENT is the result of the action of agreeing.
Example 2:

DEVELOPMENT is the result of the action of developing.
Today's 2nd suffix is: -NESS
Meaning -NESS: State or quality.
Example 3:

As always, I encourage you to write some sentences with some words that use these suffixes. For example, you can add the suffix -NESS to HAPPY, SAD, BRIGHT, DARK, WEAK or FAIR. Or you can add the suffix -MENT to words like ACHIEVE, IMPROVE, EXCITE, MANAGE and ENTERTAIN.
You can post your sentences on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Twitter/X) and we will give you feedback about your sentences ASAP. I hope you write some sentences, since I know it will help you to improve your English.
Enjoy the rest of your day. We'll be back tomorrow with our last lesson of the week.
All the best!
