Today's word is: MESMERIZING.
Definition: holding the attention of someone; transfixing someone.
As you can see, its definition is very similar to the definitions of our words from Monday and Tuesday.
Example 1: The audience was silent: the magician was mesmerizing.
Example 2: The actor is described as talented and mesmerizing in this new movie.
Example 3: We watched a spider catch a fly: it was mesmerizing to my son!
Do those examples look familiar? They are the same examples from yesterday, but with the word MESMERIZING instead of yesterday's word, CAPTIVATING. This shows you exactly how close the two are in meaning!
We can also use the examples from Monday's lesson:
