TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT: meaning and examples
Today we have another expression that contains the word 'OR'.
Today's expression is: TAKE IT (THEM) OR LEAVE IT (THEM)
It's used: when we offer something and we leave no option for negotiation.
Example 1:
Buyer: Look, I'm really interested in that computer but it's just too expensive. Are you sure you can't reduce the price a little more?
Salesperson: No, I'm sorry. 650 dollars is my final offer. You can take it or leave it.
Example 2:
Boy: Mum! Why did you buy me those trainers? I wanted Zippy-brand trainers!
Mother: Sorry, Billy. Zippy brand trainers are far too expensive. Take them or leave them but I'm not getting you any others.
