TENSE TUESDAY: 'ADJECTIVE OF' COMBINATIONS: meaning and examples
Hello everyone! Welcome to Tense Tuesday.
Like last week, this week we aren't really looking at a tense: we are instead reviewing ADJECTIVE PREPOSITION combinations. Last week we looked at ADJECTIVE WITH combinations. This week we are looking at ADJECTIVE OF combinations. Here are just some of the many we have in English.
afraid OF
Example 1: I was afraid of the dark when I was young.
bored OF
Example 2: When I'm bored of running, I go to yoga.
fond OF
Example 3: I am very fond of music by British rock bands.
guilty OF
Example 4: I am guilty of eating chocolate late at night.
proud OF
Example 5: I am so proud of you!
