TENSE TUESDAY: THE FUTURE PERFECT FOR COMPLETED ACTION: meaning and examples

Hello everyone, and happy Tuesday to you. For today's Tense Tuesday, we are looking to the future... the Future Perfect.

Here is the formula for the Future Perfect:

WILL HAVE PAST PARTICIPLE

We use this tense to talk about something that will be completed by a specific time in the future. We use
BY A POINT IN TIME to express this relationship.

Example 1:
By 12:00 tomorrow, I will have finished this project.

Example 2:
I will have lived in London for three years by 2015

We can also omit the phrase
BY and use THIS TIME in casual conversation.

Example 3:
This time next week, we will have arrived in Paris.

Example 4:
This time tomorrow, my Mom's plane will have landed

What things will you have done by a time in the future? Can you complete these sentences?

-By tomorrow, I will have...
-By December, I will have...
-This time next year, I will have...
