TENSE TUESDAY: WORDS USED WITH PRESENT CONTINUOUS (PRESENTLY): meaning and examples
There are two definitions for PRESENTLY.
Definition 1: at the present time; now.
Definition 2: after a short time; soon.
With the Present Progressive, we use the first definition.
Example 1: They are presently waiting to be seen by the doctor.
Example 2: He is presently living in an apartment while his house is being renovated.
In this sense, the word PRESENTLY is very similar to the word CURRENTLY. We looked at CURRENTLY last week:
