THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME
THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME: meaning and examples
Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin, everyone, and happy Wednesday to you. I hope your day is going well.
Today we look at two more phrases that we can use to express gratitude.
Today's 1st phrase is: You're a lifesaver!
Meaning/Use: This is an informal expression that we use when someone has helped us in a significant way.
Example 1: Jack... you're a lifesaver! I don't think I could have done it without you.
Today's 2nd gratitude phrase is: That means a lot to me.
Meaning/Use: This also is a phrase that is used to show that someone’s actions or words have had a significant impact.
Example 2: That was a difficult time for me and your kind words really made my day. Your words mean a lot to me.
You can't improve your English unless you practice, so take the time for some quick practice today. I encourage you to write a sentence (or two) using one or both of today's gratitude phrases. You can post your sentences on one of our social media sites (Facebook or Bluesky) and we will give you feedback about your writing as soon as we can.
We'll be back tomorrow with a couple more gratitude phrases. Enjoy the rest of your day.
All the best!
