THE 5 SENSES (1)
THE 5 SENSES (1): meaning and examples
This week we are going to look at some verbs that we use to describe our five senses. The five senses and their corresponding body parts are sight (eyes), smell (nose), sound (ears), taste (mouth), and feel (fingers, or just about any other part of the body).
Today's Sense-Verb Expressions are:
to look like NOUN
to look ADJECTIVE
They mean: to appear similar to something or to have a particular appearance.
Example 1:
Doctor: What do you see in this painting?
Patient: I think that this painting looks like a butterfly. Here are the wings and here I can see the body.
Example 2:
Those cupcakes look delicious! Are they made of chocolate?
Example 3:
It looks like rain. Can you see those clouds? They look very dark!
Tomorrow we will continue with the sense of smell.
Until then, have a great day!
