THE 5 SENSES (3): meaning and examples
Our sense expressions today are related to sound.
Today's Sense-Verb Expressions are:
to sound like NOUN
to sound ADJECTIVE
They mean: to have a particular acoustic quality or to have a similar acoustic quality to another thing.
Example 1:
Listen carefully. Do you hear that? It sounds like a helicopter.
Example 2:
Your voice sounds quite angry. I'd like you to calm down and talk in a normal tone.
Example 3:
It sounds like a zoo in there! Isn't there a teacher in the room with those kids?
