THE 5 SENSES (4): meaning and examples
Our final sense verb expressions for this week are related to taste.
Today's Sense-Verb Expressions are:
to taste like NOUN
to taste ADJECTIVE
They mean: to have a particular flavour or to have a similar flavour to something else.
Example 1:
Samantha: Try my soup. What do you think? Is it too salty?
Grant: Mmmm, it tastes like the soup my mother used to make. It's delicious!
Example 2:
This milk tastes funny*. I think it may be bad.
*funny= strange, not normal
Example 3:
Don't buy those meatballs. They taste like cardboard. I always make homemade meatballs. They taste much better.
